The service portal enables you to submit your applications from the comfort of your home. The online form fields will guide you through each step of the application process.
The system will then check if your application and documents are complete. If not, you can use the service portal to submit missing documents or add documents later. Ideally, this will save you another visit to your local authority.
You can also check the status of your application in the service portal at any time.
-
Long waits for appointments are also possible in the case of online applications, depending on the workload of the authority concerned.
By submitting your application online you can, however, make sure that all documents for your appointment are complete, thus avoiding the need for another appointment due to missing documents.

BundID offers you a central account that you can use for all your online applications to prove your identity electronically.
If you store your personal data with BundID, your online application can be automatically pre-filled. This is safe and helps you save time and avoid careless errors.
Furthermore, you can conveniently access messages regarding your online application in your electronic BundID inbox.
-
Your BundID has two important features:
- Proving your identity online: You need to prove your identity to submit an application online, just as you do when you visit your local authority in person. For this purpose, you have to present an identity document (for example your passport). For online government services, you can use BundID. It stores all the data necessary for your online application.
- An inbox for official communications and messages: The BundID account comes with its own digital inbox. Via this inbox, you will receive messages concerning your pending application, for example if you are required to submit additional documents or if the relevant authority invites you to appear in person. You will be notified of new messages in your BundID inbox via the email address you provided.
-
The application process is currently being optimised for mobile devices to enable you to use the service portal on any computer, tablet or smartphone.
Simply sign in with your BundID if you wish to submit an application or upload documents. If you do not have a BundID account, you will first have to set up an account with BundID.
